Joss Stone’s new shoe line for Nine West, the Vintage America Collection, will be aptly promoted (thankfully)! The company has teamed with JAGTAG to run a mobile campaign. Smart move because smart phones have really taken over in recent years!

Here’s a snippet of the press release:

Nine West’s Vintage America Collection campaign with JAGTAG allows consumers to interact with singer-songwriter and style icon Joss Stone, who helped design the new product line, through email messages, free music downloads and digital videos. Users will also have the chance to enter a sweepstakes to win products from the Nine West Vintage America Collection. The specially branded JAGTAG features Joss Stone’s signature flower tattoo design and will appear on Vintage America Collection shoeboxes and promotional materials in print and in-stores, as well as on a microsite for the campaign (www.ninewest.com/vintageamericacollection) and in Lucky Magazine’s October issue.

We got a little bit of Joss news this past week, as we learned of her involvement with the James Bond video game, Blood Stone. I thought that would tide me over for a while, but there’s more!

We all know Joss’ anthem of record label issues was put to music in “Free Me”. Well, it looks like she’s gotten her wish! In a new interview with This Is Exeter. Here’s the update:

After an on-going struggle with her former record label, EMI, Joss has finally ended her contract with it. “I am free now and it is a real weight lifted off my shoulders,” she said. “I feel I can start afresh. I haven’t got a new album planned yet — I will do one when it feels right. I’m writing songs all the time, though.”

Very happy for Joss! Can’t wait to see what she comes up with next! Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long for a new album, though!

Various reports, that have now been confirmed, have our very own Miss Joss Stone voicing a character in the new James Bond video game, James Bond 007: Blood Stone. Joss’ “character” in the game is Nicole Hunter.

A (Joss) Stone likeness will appear in the game (for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC), and she’ll be right there alongside Bond himself, actor Daniel Craig, and Judi Dench (as M), both of whom are reprising their film roles in the game. The singer will also record an original song that she wrote with Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics titled “I’ll Take It All.”

Joss told Radio 1’s Newsbeat the following:

“It’s cool isn’t it? I’m just gonna throw that out there every 5 minutes in conversation. Did you know that I’m a Bond girl?”

CUTE!

Sounds good!

Congrats to Joss as she’s picked up her 2nd Grammy Award! Welllllll, an album she contributed to did, so I’d assume she, and all the featured artists, get credited with a Grammy win. If not, someone please correct me! It was a compilation album, so it’s not like it was one artist’s project.

Anyway, EMI Gospel’s Oh Happy Day: An All-Star Music Celebration (related link) — on which Joss sang “This Little Light Of Mine” with Buick Audra — won in the Best Traditional Gospel Album category.

So, congratulations go out to all the participating artists!
