I had my fingers crossed that, when Joss mentioned her tour with Dave Stewart, it would include the United States. Aside from TV only promo, she really hasn’t performed for fans here in a long while.

So, imagine my surprise when I saw a new gig, with Dave Stewart, pop up in my Google Reader account!

Los Angeles fans, you are the lucky ones right now, although the show is currently sold out!

February 9th, at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, 8PM — www.troubadour.com

Dave Stewart’s website has more information up, including a promo video, stating that more dates will be added as soon as they’re released.

SuperHeavy

With little-to-no promo Joss Stone‘s super group, SuperHeavy, has debuted at #26 on the US Billboard 200 album charts. I think that’s solid for a side project despite what the critics say. Did they ever perform on TV here? Did they have a single on the radio? Widespread interviews and other press? Lots of buzz and hype? No to my knowledge. Although I did see them on the cover of Billboard Magazine, honestly, most that purchase albums don’t read/subscribe to that as it is an industry magazine.

SuperHeavy were just a group of big names who collaborated, recorded, and released an album. If that was all you needed to guarantee album sales we’d see a ton of these types of groups!

So claps all around for these artists being inspired enough to put something out there that we don’t get to hear every day and standing by it.

It landed at #13 on the UK album charts.

Where else did it debut around the world? Did you buy a copy?

She did it again! Joss Stone has another new album debut in the Top 10 of the US album charts, as LP1 has landed at #9 with approximately 30,000 copies sold.

I think that’s a really good opening for an album that had the limited release that LP1 did! And honestly, Joss only did about 3-4 days of promo. So, to land in the Top 10 is a great accomplishment. Colour Me Free was Top 10 too with limited promo/release! Billboard Magazine notes that this is Joss’ 3rd Top 10 US album debut.

Congrats, Joss! Now, can we get a music video or proper single release for this album before you move on to SuperHeavy fulltime? lol

Joss Stone

Did I talk this up or what? After my last post, where I pointed out E! Online’s reporting of Joss’ US promo dates, I hoped for TV performances. Welp, her official website got a facelift which includes info on 2 such appearances; The Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno (July 11th) and The Late, Late Show w/ Craig Ferguson (July 12th).

Jay Leno airs at 11:35 PM (ET), weeknights on NBC, with the musical guest performing at the end. So, tune in around 12:25, to make sure you don’t miss Joss! Craig Ferguson’s show comes on at 12:35 AM (ET) on CBS. Same deal, with the artist performing at the end of the hour show.

After her LA promo, Joss will head cross country to NYC, where she has been booked on Live w/ Regis & Kelly for Thursday, July 14th. That date isn’t on her official website yet, but it is on the Regis & Kelly site! Live w/ Regis & Kelly airs in syndication, so check your local listings for when it airs in your area!

It’s too bad she wasn’t booked on GMA’s or the Today Show’s Summer Concert Series. I would have loved to see her do a live TV set on a platform like that. Maybe someday!

And, I will absolutely have video here for y’all if you’re unable to watch for whatever reason. So, please check back!

SuperHeavy

As the days go by, we seem to get more news about Joss’ side project, SuperHeavy, than we do her album, which hits stores in just a few weeks!

But news is news, so I’ll update you with a little more on SuperHeavy, including the above photo of the group. We also get the names of a few of the other tracks on the album, which include ‘One Day One Night’, ‘Energy’, ‘Unbelievable,’ ‘SuperHeavy,’ I Can’t Take It No More,’ ‘You’re Never Gonna Change’ and ‘I Don’t Mind.’

And last, but not lease, the group now has an official website located at *drumroll* www.superheavy.com. Not much there, but what looks like the album cover and a teaser video. But you can also sign up to their mailing list, which is always a good idea!

Lastly, E! Online reports that Joss will be in Los Angeles on July 11 and July 12 to promote her album. That’s sooooonnn! So, I hope that includes performances, more interviews, and pictures!
