The 17-year-old soul star sang at Sir Elton’s �1 million wedding party at his Windsor estate hours after she had won rave reviews.

Before her performance, entertainment was provided by the three young stars of the stage version of Billy Elliot.

Born in Dover, raised in Devon by a dried-fruit entrepreneur and spawned by the runt of the BBC’s talent show litter, Junior Star For A Night, Joss Stone‘s credentials for being the most convincing female soul singer Britain has produced since Dusty Springfield are certainly slender.

And yet, although too young to vote until April and silent on stage save for a few choice profanities, the former Joscelyn Stoker is undeniably the real thing. Britain thinks so, for both her albums reached No1, but more impressively the US, not a nation noticeably short of soul singers, is swooning.

Her voice, all husky angst re-enforced by a constant supply of honeyed tea, sounded as if it were honed in America’s deep South rather than England’s deep South-West. Although clearly road-weary, it oozed pain on Victim Of A Foolish Heart.

Joss Stone and her boyfriend of two years, Beau Dozier, have ended their romance, the singer’s rep confirms to PEOPLE.

“Joss and Beau have split up, but they remain good friends,” says the rep.

The pair met when Stone, who is now 18, was just 16. Dozier, a music producer, worked with the singing sensation on her latest album Mind Body and Soul, along with his father, Motown great Lamont Dozier.

On November 1, 2005, Walt Disney Records releases the brand new “Chicken Little Soundtrack.” Complementing the November 4 theatrical release of Walt Disney Pictures’ computer animated “Chicken Little,” the soundtrack features nine songs and six score tracks from the movie.

Original tracks include the film’s opening song “One Little Slip,” written and performed by Barenaked Ladies; “Stir It Up,” an inspired duet between Patti LaBelle and Joss Stone; and “All I Know” performed by John Ondrasik of Five for Fighting. Multi-platinum recording artists The Cheetah Girls contribute a rump-shaking version of the Ray Charles classic “Shake a Tail Feather.” The six all-new, original score tracks — including “The Sky Is Falling,” “Chase to Cornfield” and “Driving With Dad” — were composed by Academy Award� nominee John Debney, whose list of credits include “The Passion of The Christ,” “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement” and “Spy Kids.”

British soul singer Joss Stone has joined the North Shore Animal League America’s efforts to bring attention to the thousands of pets left homeless in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

“We need people to lend a hand and help these beautiful pets reach safe shelter and find loving, caring new homes,” said Stone.

“I believe that once people are aware of the situation, New Yorkers will want to step up and open their hearts and homes to these amazing animals.”

The Gap model just completed a New York-circulated PSA asking for help with the League’s efforts to rescue and find homes for abandoned and homeless pets.
